Turin, IT, launches Educational Living Lab

Turin launches the Educational Living Lab, the first open Hub for innovation in the field of learning technologies. From May 27th to July 26th, companies will be able to propose their ideas to be tested in the new Hub of the City in direct contact with students and teachers.

The EDU-LAB will be a space open to technical-scientific comparison and to all schools interested in testing first-hand didactic experiences conducted in an environment conceived in an innovative way. Experimentation will be conducted by experts who will involve students and teachers as effectively as possible. According to the logic of the "living lab", the various experiences will contribute the improvement of the methodologies and solutions proposed by making them more effective. This will also be achieved through the active role of the users themselves involved as effective drivers of change.
In this context, all the main stakeholders identified in the LEA project will be involved: procurers, suppliers, learn tech experts and schools. The proposals will be evaluated by the city of Turin, taking into consideration five criteria identified in the framework of the Torino City Lab platform: level of innovation, technical feasibility, echonomic-financial sustainability, coherence, involvement, and social environmental impact.
The city will help all participating learning technology companies on multiple levels. First of all, companies will be supported in presenting their application in the most coherent way possible to the objectives of LEA and to the needs expressed by the schools of Turin. Secondly, the city will strive to shorten administrative procedures to facilitate testing. Finally, institutional communication channels will be made available to inform citizens about the experiences and opportunities of the Educational Living Lab.

Every LEA Follower from any country is welcome to present their idea to the City of Turin. To stay updated, please visit Turin's websites.
